Dublin’s most famous drink and one its top exports is without a doubt Guinness and at the Guinness Storehouse you get to see exactly how it is made and of course have a taste.
At St James gate they have been making Guinness since 1759 after acquiring the lease for 9,000 years at only £45 a year! The brewery has grown in size over the years and in 1914 it was actually the largest in the world.
Guinness is now brewed in a total of 40 countries and for sale in over 150, however many people say that to enjoy a real pint of Guinness you have to visit Ireland.
The tour takes you around 7 floors of the factory and you will find everything from how Guinness is made, the history of Guinness and even how to pour the perfect Guinness pint! At the end of the tour you visit the Gravity Bar where you can enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness. |
