Airport
Dublin International Airport is located about 8 miles west of the city. There are a total of 87 airlines which fly in and out of the airport and over 20 million passangers come through the airport each year. There are a number of flights that leave from Dublin each day, two of the most popular international routes are to Edinburgh and London and the most popular long haul flight is to New York.
To get to and from the airport there are a number of options, the airport is serviced by over 700 buses on a daily basis which will take you to many areas of the city. There is also a taxi rank outside where you can get a cab to anywhere in the city, this is located on the forecourt on the arrivals level road.
Train Station
There are two train stations in Dublin, Connolly Station and Heuston Station and these offer a rail link to other towns in cities in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. There are cheap fares to many of these locations with direct services to Cork, Kerry and Galo for under 20 euros, these are also several direct services to Belfats each day which only take around 2 hours. Bus Service
There is an extensive bus service throughout Dublin with over 200 routes serviced throughout the city, the bus routes will take you to any location in the city or in the surrounding area. The main bus provider is Dublin Bus and the cost of a journey usually ranges from 1euro to 1.90euros for city centre travel. Times and routes can be found on the Dublin Bus website. There area also sightseeing buses available with upto 25 stops available on a hop on hop off basis, tours are available in multiple languiages.
Ferry Service
There is an excellent ferry service in Dublin which offers ferrys to Liverpool, Cherbourg and the Isle of Man. The main ferry port is Dublin Port which is only a few minutes drive from the city centre. |
